This CD is a live registration of Omnia at the 'Summer Darkness'
Gothic festival in the St. John's church in Utrecht (NL) on saturday
august 14th 2004. The recordings were made in the traditional
"bootleg" way; i.e. someone in front of the stage had
a small portable recorder and sneakily taped the whole show using
only one small microphone.
The entire concert was played unamplified so all you hear is just
three people with acoustic instruments using their own breath,
muscle and bone to fill the vast hall of this huge stone early
medieval church (built 1040 AD).
The audience of over three hundred Gothies deserves a mention
for being so quiet during the music (a rare and wonderful thing
indeed). Because as this was an unamplified gig, each member of
the crowd can be just as loud as us (and they outnumbered us at
least 100 to 1).
Sadly we will never play there again because you see, as this was in a Christian church, and we are weird looking neo-Celtic Pagans, they have decided to ban us from ever coming back again. Ah well, who gives a f*ck - at least we got the recordings.
This CD also contains bonus live video material. The unique recordings
were made during an amplified gig at the two-day music festival
"Elf in concert" (November 2003) held in the very pretty
St. Lawrence church in Rotterdam (NL), built during the fun days
of the inquisition (1449 AD). We were informed by the organisers,
just after we finished the show, that we would never be allowed
in there again because the church masters felt it was disgusting
to have so many people cheer and chant in the name of Pagan Nature
Gods in a Christian church (sounds familiar?).
Thought that was it? Even more bonus material is included in several image slideshows, with pictures taken at the concert, Omnia 'behind the scenes', and much, much more.. All for your viewing pleasure!
