Planning for Castlefest! Advices and informations...

I am discombubbeld. What is happening on Thursday that puts you under Pressure, timewise? Or did you like me just write down the wrong day in the getting ready frenzy??

People who have the Die-Hard passpartou get their behind the scene's tour on thursdayevening. So that's why she wants to be on time. As how often do you get a behind the scene tour

@ Mielikki If  you take a bus you must catch bus 50 from busstop De Nachtegaal till busstop De Nassaustraat. But i must agree with Muneera : You will sit in the bus for a few minutes and from the busstop aswell from your hotel you have to walk to Castlefest. You see, the bus drives around the center of Lisse, So infact it would be not smart to take the bus. If you walk, you will safe money, and dont have to wait at the busstop.

@Verenamon As Ishitar said, people with Die-hard Packet have a tour on that evening, but we only got one hour and a half or something like that to go from the airport to the hotel, do the check-in, and then from the hotel to the castle... And if we have to walk half an hour to reach the castle... maybe we won't do it in time  But we will try to do it all the same!

@Wus Well, actually I can't understand dutch very much, but some parts of that site can be translated in english  I checked that site to find out some usefull buses, I found out that number 61 goes from the airport to Lisse, is it true? So if it will be too late to join the tour, we will take the bus and save some money... But if we'll have enough hope to be there in time, we will try by taxi 
I read on the Castlefest website that there will be a special shuttle going from Hillegom station to the castle, maybe with this one people will be able to get there without walking that much... but I don't think it will be active the day before the festival... 
I don't know the location... is it safe to walk in that area at night or it would be better to avoid it?
And another question (thank you for helping me with all this complicated planning things! Thank you so much!!!), is there a bus from Lisse to the centre of Amsterdam?

Lisse is not really dangerous, except for all the weirdoes walking around ;-)

Who still has no room for the Castlefest should sometimes think to look in the direction of Haarlem.

I have asked the Dutch train: There goes every half hour train (S-Bahn) to Hillegom, travel time: 10 minutes. Return to 0.00 clock at least!

But, be careful, Hillegom is not the same as Lisse. There is no trainstation in Lisse so you will always need a bus to get in Hillegom. Lisse - Haarlem takes about 1,5 hour(!!) by public transport. I'd rather advise Leiden as an alternative. You can take a bus from Lisse to Leiden Central Station and that takes about 45 minutes in total (incl. a 15 minutes walk to the busstop in Lisse). Latest departure about 23.45 hrs.

Guess they are aiming to use the shuttlebus that rides specially for CF to and from the station in Hillegom. That makes it a short trip  and also one that can be done a little later (but check shuttletimes to see what time the last one goes and realise that it will be very busy as lots of people leaving at the same time)

Where can I see, to wich place the shuttlebusses drives? And the times?  Drives one to Noordwijkerhout?
Cant find it on the castlefest sites.

Shuttle bus only goes back and forth between station in Hillegom and  Lisee

Kijk op www.ns.nl of www.9292ov.nl voor een persoonlijke route naar station Hillegom. Vanaf daar rijdt een pendelbus naar het terrein van Kasteel de Keukenhof. De kosten hiervoor zijn € 3,50 voor een retour. Deze kaartjes zijn ook in de voorverkoop te koop. De bus rijdt om het halve uur aansluitend op de aankomst van de treinen. De bussen blijven rijden tot uiterlijk een half uur na sluitingstijd.

And the shuttle goes every 30 min from station (as connecting to trains)  Last shuttle 30 min after closingtime. In rest of story they say to remember it will be busy when all people leave at same time so to make sure you allow your self time to get to shuttle and to station

Dear Mother, am I happy to have revised my plans. I will rough it and just pass out ib the trunk of my car for the few hours of sleep that will happen at CF.

Exactly! Leiden and Haarlem are connected best by NL-train with station "Hillegom". So, who sleeps there comes out on top and back relaxed and without any problems. From Hillegom drives the shuttle bus to the Keukenhof.

Last shuttle 30 min after closingtime.

 

OMG. You mean: Last shuttle back to Hillegom at 6.30 p.m. on Sunday?
Then you should also consider on Sunday not necessarily to stay to 6 p.m. (aaah, the Faun concert), because then everyone will leave the ground simultaneously. 
Or drives the shuttle bus for so long until people are all gone? Or may people then see how they get away from the Keukenhof again?

I must say that I had last week in a great concern because of the parking and the crowds there in Lisse.

But then yesterday it was really relaxed: all well marked, no lines of cars in front of the car park, a large lawn with lots of space, 10 minutes walk to the ticket office, where again no crowd. Back as easily.
So, the journey by car is really recommended. And a big big thank you to all the parking people, always friendly and helpful.
