About "the Message"of OMNIA

OMNIA is much more than "just a band" - it has become a complete life style, philosophy and natural-religion. OMNIA sings of personal freedom and personal responsibility, of ancient Celtic values of right and wrong. A song of global ecological awareness and the spiritual connection between humans and Nature. A song of "thinking outside the box"...

Husband and wife Steve Sic and Jenny with their graceful outlandish clothes, strange hairstyles and head/body covering ritual tattoos are both deeply religious people with an encyclopedic knowledge of musical instruments, Northern European indigenous culture and the animistic / shamanic rites, music rituals and nature-religions of the world. Their philosophy is very free and non-dogmatic though heavily based on the cool bits of the most ancient European Religions.

They abhor the commercial, mad lifestyle of modern society, and live a very simple life, free from television and the media. This couple is definitely not just an "act"; because of their very particular animistic lifestyle, filled with ritual and symbolism, they have more connection to the natural and spirit world than to "normal" human society (which they themselves view as insane and diseased).

Because Steve Sic is a European intuitive "Shaman" (a sort of crazy spiritual teacher / medicine-man) as well as a musician, he and his wife are able to put their own psychic / emotional energy into their musical performances. The added effect of having this whole band of pagans performing on stage, sharing that energy and spreading it out to the audience is a modern yet timeless ritual which is understood by all who enter their universe, "the World of OMNIA".

OMNIA turns any concert into a form of shamanic ritual, making the entire audience part of it.

Good examples are the "Wickerman" fire sacrifices that OMNIA has been making internationally since 1996, as an expression of their personal pagan religion and to give thanx to the living spirit of nature for giving them such a groovy life. For some years it had become OMNIA's tradition to share this public ritual exclusively with the entire audience of the Castlefest festival in Lisse (Holland).

For this kind of Iron Age Celtic ritual, a giant sacrificial man or animal effigy is built from wicker (willow twigs) and wood. At such celebrations all visitors get the chance to place non-living, burnable offerings in the hollow body of this sacred "Wickerman" (ie: flowers, food, artworks, feathers, something personal, etc.).

The wickerman is then ceremoniously set on fire during a special OMNIA pagan concert-ritual so that all the people there can feel the positive energy emanating from this burning group sacrifice as the music and the flames light up the sky.

This simple yet very pure and unique interactive ritual is always "given to all" in the spirit of freedom and equality of all pagan religions. Because OMNIA's form of nature religion is purely intuitive and non-dogmatic (there are no rules...do as you please), it is for all those who respect life and recognise the duality and balance in all things natural, those who can still see the fairies in the woods and smile.

Through this kind of attitude and depth of conviction on stage, the musical voice of the band "comes alive" for those special members of the audience who can think "outside the box" ...those who feel "out of place" in this world of crazy monkeys, mass media lies and corporate law. Those who realise all is not what it seems... inspiring them to be whatever they want to be, to break through the restrictions of this mad modern culture and be free.
