Farley Mowat (1921-2014)

14 Sep 2017

This is Farley Mowat  one of my greatest heroes.
This man has taught me so much about life on this planet and the changes wrought by mankind upon it, through his amazing life and the books he wrote about his observations.

I have read every book he's ever written (including the lighter ones for kids ;-)
And I can seriously recommend his works like "never cry wolf" and the "people of the deer" series... but if you only ever read one...try this one, his most "difficult to stomach" book:
It's called : "Sea of Slaughter" and reading it nearly drove me mad...
I think it should be taught in schools and I seriously recommend it to anyone who would like to know more about how serious the systematic persecution and destruction of our fellow brothers and sisters in nature has been waged through the ages and continues up into the present day.
(perhaps some people who still believe that sport hunting and killing whales and seals is a "fine old tradition" that must not be changed ,should try it too!)
but be warned... it's not pretty

The World needs more heroes, to give a voice to the voiceless that "don't speak human"..
It's a hard job, but somebody's got to do it

Farley quote: "We're under some gross misconception that we're a good species, going somewhere important, and that at the last minute we'll correct our errors and God will smile on us. It's delusion."
