Time rolls on and waits for no man…
Jenny’s father (and my good friend), de Weledel zeer geleerde heer Hans J.J. van der Harten MD PhD
passed away into the light at the age of 92 … he was cremated last week.
Hans has now joined his wife Ansie (who passed last year) leaving us sad for the loss of him, but happy for the release of his soul from the tribulations and limits of this physical realm.
He had lived a long and happy life and had a good death which he faced with an open active mind and a smile in his soul.
We released the song “the Light” on his 92nd birthday, he died peacefully two weeks later.
“the Light” was written for him personally and we played it at the bed where he died, we played it at the open coffin where he lay like a wise old wizard just resting…
and finally we played it together with Gwendolin Snowdon on the day of his cremation as his last physical remains were dissolved… There are no pictures of that moment because Daphyd was crying during the ceremony.
We sent him off with music and fire just like Ansie before him.
Ansie and Hans have gone… their home “DREAMHARPS” now ends
the place where Jenny, me and OMNIA always had a 2nd home…
where Jenny grew up,
where we played and practiced so much music with so many different friends,
where there was so much Art and Life!…
it too has died…
I can feel the spirit slowly retract from the walls around me.
We are now still in Holland dismantling the whole interior of DREAMHARPS, the Fantasy and Celtic Art comes off the walls, the plants go to different homes, the instruments, the furniture, the stuff of life… it all disappears into the flow…
For us an era comes to end, so that the flow of life can carry on down a different fairy path. This house, these walls, will echo to a different sound. We shall not return here again.
Time rolls on and waits for no man (or woman).
Stay in the flow and swim for as long as you can (and want) to.
Pluck the fruits of joy when they are offered to you
Keep a song in your heart and do the right thing each day.
And maybe , you shall a life as full and as long as my dear friend Hans!
